LUXUP TRAINING · CPD PROGRAMMES FOR CBC SCHOOLSKAMPALA, UGANDA · 2026
Born from the NCDC 2026 conference pilot findings
The teachers didn’t ask for less AI. They asked for more of it, aimed at the marking.
Two continuing professional development (CPD) programmes that turn that finding into practice:
one for the leaders who decide whether AI enters the school, one for the teachers who carry the marking load.
Both are AI-Tutor led: personalised to each learner, adaptive to their progress, interactive throughout.
Grounded in LuxUp’s classroom pilot and presented at the NCDC 2nd International Conference on Curriculum Development.
The pilot finding behind these programmes: in LuxUp’s 2026 field pilot with Uganda’s
competency-based curriculum (CBC), the most immediate value teachers reported was not AI-generated content — it was
assessment relief: marking support, competency tracking, and consistency across classes of sixty. These
programmes teach exactly that, responsibly.

How does our school see staff progress?
Each school gets secure access to a real-time progress and competency-grasp dashboard for its own
staff, generated live from course activity: who is progressing through the modules, how well
competencies are being grasped, and where follow-up would help — evidence for boards, donors
and the inspectorate, ready whenever needed. Courses are built and hosted in-house by LuxUp; your
school’s data is visible only to your school.
Who pays — teachers or schools?
Enrolment is via schools or sponsors (development partners, associations, foundations). Teachers are not
billed directly — the programmes exist to reduce teacher workload, not tax it.
We have unreliable power and internet. Can we still participate?
Yes. Our courses are AI-Tutor led, which requires an internet connection — and Uganda’s
internet is, for the most part, good, with few patchy periods. Schools in remote or unserved areas —
or with unreliable or non-existent power — can talk to us: we offer affordable, viable
delivery options for exactly those situations.
